Douglas County Child Enticement Law
Colorado’s child enticement law prohibits inviting youth to go somewhere private or secluded for a sexual purpose. CRS 18-3-305 is the criminal code that addresses enticement of a child in Douglas and El Paso County. You commit this offense in Highlands Ranch, Parker, or Colorado Springs if you:
- invite, persuade, or attempt to invite or persuade,
- a juvenile 14 or younger,
- to enter a car, building, room, or other secluded location,
- intending to fondle, grope, or have sex with the minor
These invitations themselves sometimes occur in messages on smartphones using various apps. Even if the isolation or sexual contact never occur, charges apply for seeking to take the child somewhere private.
